Lidly vs SnapEasy

SnapEasy and Lidly solve different problems. SnapEasy restores your Snapchat Memories (original dates, GPS and captions baked in, video clips combined) and hands you a clean archive as a ZIP or in Google Drive, working on a computer through its website or its Mac and Windows apps. Lidly is an iPhone app for reading your export: saved chat snaps in conversations by person, with who sent each one, and your Memories by date. If you want a restored Memories archive on a computer or in Google Drive, SnapEasy is built for that. If you want to look back through your conversations on your phone, Lidly is.

We make Lidly. Everything below about SnapEasy is what its website said when we checked in October 2026. We haven't tested it.

What SnapEasy says it does

As of October 2026, SnapEasy's site says:

  • You request your export from Snapchat, upload the ZIP on your computer, SnapEasy restores your Memories, and you get a clean archive back.
  • It writes original capture dates and GPS coordinates into every photo and video, and stitches filters, captions and drawings onto the media.
  • It combines clips into one video and sorts files by date with readable names.
  • You can download the result as a ZIP, with download links live for 48 hours, or send it straight to your Google Drive.
  • A desktop app for Mac and Windows runs the same restoration on your own computer, and nothing gets uploaded.
  • It never touches your Snapchat password.

Its homepage doesn't mention chat history or sender names. We couldn't find its pricing details on the pages we checked, so we haven't described them here.

Where SnapEasy is the better choice

  • You're working on a computer, or you don't have an iPhone. SnapEasy runs in a browser and on Mac and Windows.
  • You want a sorted archive of files with readable names, or a copy in Google Drive. Lidly doesn't produce a file archive or connect to cloud services.
  • You want captions baked into videos and clips combined. SnapEasy says it does both; Lidly keeps video captions in the app only.

Where Lidly is the better choice

  • Your chats matter as much as your Memories. Lidly puts saved chat snaps and messages back in their conversations, in order, with who sent each one. Viewing chats by person explains how.
  • You'd rather nothing leave your phone. Lidly has no account, no login and no network access. The App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected".
  • You want to keep looking back. Memories appear by date, and Throwbacks resurface snaps from this week in past years with on-device notifications.
  • You want to start free. Importing and reading are free, along with the most recent twelve months of media and your first ten saves. A one-time purchase unlocks the rest; there's no subscription.

A note on the storage deadline

SnapEasy's FAQ also covers Snap's Memories storage changes and links to Snap's help page. Our own summary of what Snap says, with dates, is in the Memories storage limit, explained. In short: Snap's help page describes archiving older Memories from January 2027, not deleting them.
