Common questions

How long does generating a Snapchat export take?

Snapchat generates your export on its own servers, not instantly. Snapchat says it can take up to 7 days, and large exports can take longer. Lidly has no control over that timing. It can only open the file once Snapchat has sent it to you.

My export is split into multiple parts. Does Lidly support that?

Yes. Full data exports are often split into eight or more parts, and archives of 15 GB or more are common. Pick every part when you import. Lidly reads each part in place, wherever it already sits on your device, so you never need to combine the parts or keep a second copy.

Some snaps are not in a conversation. Why?

Lidly only puts a snap in a conversation when the export says which one it belongs to. Anything it cannot attribute with confidence goes to a by-date view instead of being guessed at, so you still see it, just not under a person's name.

How do I delete data I have already imported?

Inside the app: open the Profile tab, tap Manage Storage, then tap Delete All Imported Data and confirm. This permanently removes everything Lidly built from your export: the index, thumbnails and cached videos, plus any export files you chose to move into Lidly when you imported them. Export files Lidly read in place, wherever you keep them, are left alone. Deleting the app removes everything along with it. Media you saved to your camera roll is part of your photo library and is not affected; remove it in the Photos app.

What does Lidly cost?

The app is free. Importing your export and reading your conversations costs nothing, your most recent twelve months of media are free to view, and your first ten saves back to your camera roll are free. Unlocking the rest of your archive and unlimited saving is a single one-time in-app purchase; the App Store shows its price in your currency. There is no subscription and no account.

I paid on another device. How do I get my unlock back?

Open the Profile tab and tap Restore Purchases. The unlock is a non-consumable purchase tied to your Apple Account, so restoring it on a new device, or after reinstalling, costs nothing.
