Lidly vs FixMyExport
FixMyExport and Lidly do different jobs. FixMyExport repairs your Snapchat Memories files (dates, GPS, captions, split videos) so they import cleanly into a photo library, and it runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad and Android. Lidly is an iPhone app for reading your export: saved chat snaps in conversations by person, with who sent each one, plus your Memories by date. If you want your Memories fixed and moved into Google Photos, or you're not on iPhone, FixMyExport is likely the better fit. If you want to look back through your conversations, that's what Lidly is for.
We make Lidly. Everything below about FixMyExport is what its website said when we checked in October 2026. We haven't tested it, so check its site for the current details.
What FixMyExport says it does
As of October 2026, FixMyExport's site says:
- It is available for macOS 12 or later, Windows 10 (1809) or later, iPhone and iPad on iOS/iPadOS 15.1 or later, and Android 7 or later.
- It reads coordinates from
memories_history.jsonand embeds GPS into the files, and restores the correct date for each Memory. - It merges supported overlays back onto their photos and videos.
- It detects consecutive video segments and stitches them back into one video.
- Your media is processed on your device and never uploaded to FixMyExport's servers.
- It can upload fixed files directly to your own Google Drive or Dropbox.
- It's free for up to 200 files, then a one-time payment, with no subscription.
- It was formerly called ExportSnaps, and it states it is not affiliated with Snapchat.
Its homepage doesn't mention chat history or sender names.

Where FixMyExport is the better choice
- You're on Android, Windows or a Mac. Lidly is iPhone only.
- You want everything in Google Photos or Dropbox. FixMyExport says it uploads to your own accounts; Lidly saves only to your iPhone's camera roll.
- You want captions burned into videos, and split videos joined. FixMyExport says it does both. Lidly shows video captions in the app, but saved videos are the original file.
- Your goal is a folder of fixed files. That's FixMyExport's stated purpose.
Where Lidly is the better choice
- You want your conversations back. Lidly matches saved chat snaps and messages to the people who sent them and shows each conversation in order. Things it can't place confidently go to an Unsorted view by date rather than being guessed.
- You want to browse, not convert. Tap to advance, hold to pause, the way you're used to, with captions on. Viewing chats by person shows how.
- You want to keep it on your phone, offline. Lidly makes no network requests at all and has no account. It reads the export in place, so a large multi-part export needs almost no extra space.
- You want reminders of the past. Throwbacks bring back snaps from this week in past years, using on-device notifications.
Can you use both?
Yes. They work from the same export ZIP and don't change it. You might use a Memories fixer to move your Memories into a photo library, and Lidly to read your saved conversations on your phone.
