Lidly vs SC Memories Importer

SC Memories Importer and Lidly are both iPhone apps that start from your Snapchat data export, and both list "Data Not Collected" on the App Store. The difference is scope. SC Memories Importer's job, per its listing, is saving your exported Memories into your device's photo library with their original dates and locations. Lidly reads the whole export: your saved chat snaps in conversations by person, with who sent each one, and your Memories by date, and lets you save any of them to your camera roll. If you only want your Memories in Photos, SC Memories Importer is focused on exactly that. If you also want your conversations back, that's Lidly's core job.

We make Lidly. Everything below about SC Memories Importer is from its App Store listing as we read it in October 2026. We haven't tested it.

What SC Memories Importer's listing says

As of October 2026, the listing says:

  • It saves your exported Snapchat Memories (photos and videos) to your device, preserving original dates and location data, in an album called "SC_Memories".
  • You request your data export from Snapchat, then select either the memories_history.json file or the full ZIP, and start with a Download All Memories button.
  • It describes itself as not a media downloader, working only with the official exported file, and says it never connects to Snapchat servers.
  • It needs no login, and its privacy label reads "Data Not Collected".
  • It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 16 or later, and lists Apple Silicon Macs and Apple Vision Pro.
  • It's free, with a "No Limit" in-app purchase.

The listing covers Memories, not chats.

Where SC Memories Importer may suit you better

  • You only want your Memories in Photos, in their own album. Lidly saves at the original dates but doesn't create albums, because that would need full access to your photo library and Lidly asks only to add. You'd find Lidly's saves in Photos' Recently Saved instead.
  • You're on an iPad or an older iOS version. Its listing supports iOS 16; Lidly needs iOS 18 and is built for iPhone.
  • You want a single-purpose tool. It does one job.

Where Lidly may suit you better

  • You want your saved chat snaps back in their conversations. That's the main thing Lidly does: it matches each saved snap to the person who sent it and shows each conversation in order. Viewing chats by person shows how.
  • You want to look before you save. Browse your Memories by date and your chats by person, tap to advance and hold to pause, and save what you choose.
  • You want captions back. Lidly matches caption overlays to their photos and videos, shows them in the app, and keeps them on saved photos. Why export photos have no captions explains.
  • You have a large multi-part export. Lidly reads all the parts in place, without unzipping, and keeps a small index.
  • You want reminders. Throwbacks bring back snaps from this week in past years, using notifications scheduled on your phone.
